Fed's Bullard: Rate hike very much in play for September
FXStreet (Bali) - James Bullard, President of the Fed of St. Louis, is taking questions from reporters after delivering a speech, noting that a Fed rate hike is 'very much in play for September', not ruling out the possibility of a hike in July.
If one judges the latest FOMC rhetoric, however, Yellen remains quite cautious, with the latest rates projection updates being more dovish than the market had expected.
Fed's Bullard also said Europe's bond-buying program will allow ECB to keep volatility low in wake of Greece default. Also on Greece Bullard said that problems in Greece will prompt flight to safety from investors and be bullish for US economy.
About the latest US data, Bullard said data has been stronger in recent weeks and he'd like to see more evidence Q2 is rebounding.
